All the feels….
This episode features mostly emotions and new outfits as the team begins the investigation after class, where Jaune promptly gets shot down again for a date with Weiss. Where is Pyhrra during this?
Anyway, Wiess and Ruby planned on heading out to get files from her father’s company about the shipments, while Blake and Sun would find the White Fang’s base and see if they could learn more, while Yang and Neptune go to meet with an old contact of hers in the wrong part of town.
Ruby and Weiss split when they run across Penny, leaving Weiss to go to the communication room. She gets the information, but she avoids talking to her father and sister, Winter, over the line because of some emotions that weigh on her shoulders. It’s a humanizing moment.
Ruby, on the other hand, tries to get Penny to open up about what happened weeks ago when she left the group. She says her father was upset and she wasn’t supposed to talk to them, but when they stop at an android exhibition, the things Blake and Adam cut through in drones, two security guards spot her and she flees. Things happen and that poor dust seller is about to run over Ruby by accident when Penny grabs the truck and stops it.
Obviously, that set off some warning bells and Ruby asks for answers. As the video ends, Penny reveals she’s not a real girl (Pinocchio anyone?).
It was a deep episode, giving more insight into the mask Weiss wears and Penny’s true identity. 4.5 out of 5.
